A Student Intern Counselor, Counselor Trainee, is one who is still in the process of graduate school. They generally have taken most, if not all, of their classes and are ready to put their knowledge to use. All interns have a fully Independently Licensed Therapist, who has additional Endorsement from their State Licensing Board, to act as a Supervisor/Mentor and Teacher for the Intern during the process. Having a supervisor means that there are extra people making sure that you, the client, get the best possible care from your therapist! Occasionally, the students may film or record a session (with your consent) or have a supervisor sit in (again, with your consent!) in order to make sure that they are giving you the best treatment possible!
I am a Counselor Trainee pursuing a master’s degree in clinical counseling.
I believe that every individual’s journey is unique and is shaped by their personal life experiences and responses. Sometimes, these experiences and responses can negatively impact our mental health. I’m here to help you explore the ways in which your past might be at play in your present thoughts, feelings, and actions. Together, we can uncover the conscious and unconscious forces influencing your life and identify the steps needed for healing and growth.
I approach therapy with empathy, warmth, and a sense of humor. My out-of-the-box thinking allows me to see connections that otherwise might be overlooked, understand the complexities of your situation, and find creative solutions. I’m committed to walking alongside you on your journey toward self-discovery and empowerment. Let’s get started!
I am currently a student at Winebrenner Theological Seminary working to earn my master’s in clinical counseling. Prior to beginning my journey at Winebrenner, I earned a bachelor’s degree in children’s ministry and Christian education at Indiana Wesleyan University. I spent five years as a Children’s Ministry Director in Findlay, OH.
As I spent time serving children and families, I discovered that not only do I have a passion for nurturing the spiritual well-being of others, I also have a desire to walk alongside people on their journey towards mental and emotional wholeness.
In my spare time I enjoy reading, and spending time with my puppy, Hazel.
